BBuilding built at the end of the 19th century having undergone expansion works in the second quarter of the 20th century. The building was in an advanced state of disrepair and was mainly dedicated to commerce and services, having only residents in one floor. The oldest barbershop in Europe is in the building, which is why it is classified as heritage by the Municipality of Lisbon.

From the beginning, the project sought to preserve the barbershop, but recover the building in constructive terms. Given the profound changes that were made to the building to adapt it to its commercial function, the building's original structure could not be preserved. Thus, the integral demolition of the interior was proposed and approved, with the reconstruction of an interior structure in concrete, allowing the preservation of the barbershop, in the public area, as well as the existing lobby at the back.

The result was the creation of a fully rehabilitated residential building where the Barbearia Campos was preserved and adapted to its new needs, without losing its original character and image.

The building, although having a residential function, was designed for local accommodation, thus integrating the needs of this type of service.
