Rehabilitation and expansion project and a set of 3 buildings located in Largo das Palmeiras. At the beginning of the process, only two buildings still had main facades, the third building was already in ruins.
The project sought to preserve the main facades of the two existing buildings. In the area corresponding to the third building, an attempt was made to develop a contemporary main façade that was in dialogue with the architecture of the early 20th century, the time when the entire area was built. In one of the buildings it was even possible to preserve the entrance hall, having been integrated as an independent access to one of the fractions of the development,
The project was developed seeking to preserve the spans and architectural elements as well as the coverings from the beginning of the 20th century. XX. This option is valid both for the main façade, where the metric of the new elements is the same as for the other two buildings, and for the rear façade, where the creation of large iron balconies sought to mimic the iron architecture, so in vogue at the beginning of the 20th century. XX and of which there are several examples in the area.
The program presupposed the creation of housing fractions that valued natural lighting, 43 apartments were designed, with varying typologies between T1 and T3, 1 shop and 110 parking spaces, of which 22 autonomous parking fractions.
